Chronicling America features a October 8, 1892 article, author unknown, from the Morning Call newspaper about two Chinese men, Hip Lung and Chow Tai, who traveled to Washington after the passing of the Geary Act- the Act that added additional immigration requirements for Chinese immigrants under the Chinese Exclusion Act (1882). According to the writer, one of the men explained that they were on their way to New York City to raise funds to fight the Geary Act.
