The Library of Congress features an 1866 political cartoon, featured in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, that depicts President Andrew Johnson (D-TN)--the 17th President of the United States from 1865 to 1869--holding a leaking kettle labelled "The Reconstructed South" as well as a women dressed as a "constitutional amendment" and holding a child with an American flag in its hand. The caption reads, "Now, Andy, I wish you and your boys would hurry up that job, because I want to use that kettle right away. You are all talking too much about it."
