The New York Public Library Digital Collections presents a historical illustration that depicts President Andrew Johnson (D-TN)--who became the 17th President of the United States after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in April of 1865--looking up at a sign on the outline of a building that reads "US Senate" and dressed in a suit, holding a top hat in his left hand, and holding a rolled up piece of paper that says, "A. Johnson from Tenn. Speeches," as well as American flags under his right arm. Beside Johnson, an Asian man, dressed in a suit and holding his top hat, is depicted trying to see the writing on the piece of paper Johnson. The caption reads, "The Whirligig of Time. 'Here we are again!'"
