The Library of Congress features an 1868 historical illustration, drawn by Theodore R. Davis and featured in Harper's Weekly, that depicts sergeant-at-arms George T. Brown holding his top hat behind his back while serving the summons to President Andrew Johnson (D-TN)--who became the 17th President of the United States after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in April of 1865--for his impeachment trial in an office with another individual standing behind them.
