The Internet Archive presents an 1868 historical speech, given by George Vickers to the United States Senate, that provides Vickers's opinion on the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson (D-TN)--who became the 17th President of the United States after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in April of 1865. He expresses that he is not in support of some of the articles of impeachment brought against Johnson by the United States House of Representatives.
