The Library of Congress features an 1868 historical illustration, drawn by James E. Taylor and featured in Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, that depicts a man sitting at a desk preparing the summons for President Andrew Johnson (D-TN)--who became the 17th President of the United States after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in April of 1865--to appear in a trial of impeachment surrounded by two men who are observing him.
