Description
DocsTeach presents a lesson plan, created by the National Archives Education Team, that aims to enhance chronological thinking in students, engage students in the analysis of historical documents on Native American voting rights, and encourage them to identify key points in United States history when Native American rights were expanded or restricted, including in 1870 with the ratification of the 15th Amendment--which prohibits the denial of suffrage to any United States citizens based off of race. Components include: primary sources, teaching activities, and discussion questions.
