YouTube presents a 2020 video, produced by JJMS Social Studies, that provides provides a brief historical overview of Abraham Lincoln's Reconstruction plan--which pardons those who participated in the rebellion of the Confederacy upon their oath of allegiance to the Union and also declares that the following states could be readmitted to the Union as long as 10 percent of their population swore allegiance: Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Themes include: an overview of the state the south and freedmen were left in after the Civil War, a discussion of the social atmosphere of the United States after the Civil War, and Lincoln's intentions with the formulation of his plan.
