Description
The South Carolina Legislature features a 2003 resolution that was first introduced to the Senate by several Congressman proposing the erection of a historical marker in Lake City, South Carolina to honor Frazier Baker- the first Black postmaster in Lake City, South Carolina who was murdered, along with his one year old daughter, in a racial terror attack by armed White men in 1898. The resolution includes an explanation of "lynching", the attack on the Baker family, and its historical significance in South Carolina.
