The Library of Congress features a letter from White abolitionist Charles V. Dyers to President Abraham Lincoln on the character of Black Union officer and abolitionist Martin Robison Delany. According to the Dyers, Delany is a “man of energy and intelligence.” Dyers also provides a perspective on Delany's performance as an officer.
